What is iChangeWebPage for

iChangeWebPage does not require any special settings on the web server of the serviced web site.

iChangeWebPage communicates with the serviced web site via ftp. Hence ftp login parameter are needed when setting up the service.

The ftp login name and the ftp server name must not change for the period of an iChangeWebPage license as if they change an existing license will become invalid.

All configuration data of the web site are stored in a file "ichangeconfig" which is placed in the home folder of the ftp user. This file should be backed up together with the web site. No data is stored on the iChangeWebPage servers in regards to any configuration of a serviced web site. This configuration file is a plain ASCII text file an can be edited manually. If the syntax of the file is corrupted the file will be renamed by iChangeWebPage and all the configuration needs to be re-entered or alternatively an older but correct version of the config file needs to be reinstated.

An iChangeWebPage license is based on a web sites ftp account. If a web site has several ftp accounts (with different ftp home folders) than it would be possible to have serveral independant iChangeWebPage licenses which all work on the same web site. This could be usefull where for example different divisions work on the samene web site but want to controll their own sections completely independantly of each other.
